Welcome!

A blog is admittedly not the best way to organize a database. Still, it'll suffice.

To start browsing, cast your eyes to the left, then click the link labeled "The Directory." For an explanation of this project, as well as sourcing (and other various and sundry things), click "About."

. . .

Much of the Ohio-specific data I've collected is available here, in the form of a handy ArcGIS webmap.

  1. Hi. I found your blog and website by googling "German immigration Sandusky County Ohio" for a talk on German immigration and then went down the rabbit hole of fascinating historic architecture in Ohio. What a wonderful compilation and interpretation of old Ohio buildings! Thanks so much for posting all of this information. Do you ever give talks to historical or genealogical groups? I have affiliations with Seneca and Sandusky Counties. Becky Hill, Tiffin Ohio. (mostly retired Head Librarian Hayes Presidential Library)

    1. This makes my day. Thanks! I assume that you read my blog post about Sandusky County? (If not, it's here: https://ohiohistoricarchitecture.blogspot.com/2017/07/the-residences-of-rural-sandusky-county.html.)

I've never given a talk—probably because I'm just a student, and I haven't a credential to show (yet). Would I *like* to give a talk? Sure! It'd be a great way to learn something from the people who actually own the things I study.

    2. Thanks for the link - that is the place I first landed on - very cool. Can we talk offline about possibilities of giving a talk? My email is rebeccahill44883@gmail.com.

  2. Thanks for getting this data back up and running. I use this to checkout old houses on a regular basis
